Why Air, Not Foam

Three things a block of foam physically cannot do

No exotic claims and no invented percentages — just the mechanical difference between sitting on a solid and sitting on air.

Foam flattens. Air cannot.

Foam has to crush in order to cushion you, and crushing is exactly what ruins it — which is why a foam pad holds a body-shaped dent within weeks. An air cell cushions by moving air between chambers instead, so there is nothing to collapse.

Gel holds heat. Air moves it.

Dense gel and foam give body heat nowhere to go, which is why hour three feels damp and restless. The channels between air cells stay open, so air keeps moving underneath you rather than sitting trapped against the seat.

How long does delivery take, and what does it cost?

Shipping is free on every US order. We pack within 1–2 business days and delivery takes 7–12 business days from there. You get a tracking link by email the moment it ships. There are no customs charges for you to pay — if a carrier ever asks, pay it and send us the receipt and we refund it the same day.

What if the cushion is not comfortable for me?

You have 30 days from delivery. If it is not more comfortable than what you were sitting on before, email cs@ooriver.com with your order number and we refund you in full. You do not need to post it back — return shipping would cost more than the cushion. Keep it, pass it to someone, or dispose of it.

Which cushion should I choose?

If you sit at a desk all day, an even-support air-cell model is usually right. If your pain is specifically tailbone or coccyx, or you are recovering from surgery or pregnant, a hollow-centre model removes contact from that point entirely. If you travel, choose one that deflates and folds flat. Not sure? Email us your chair or car model and we will tell you honestly which one fits — including if the answer is none of them.

Do I need a pump?

No. The valve is built into the cushion: press it to add air, tap it to let air out. Nothing to charge, nothing to pack, nothing to lose in a drawer. Inflating to roughly 60–80% rather than drum-tight is both more comfortable and easier on the seams.

Is it safe to use in a wheelchair all day?

Air-cell construction suits long seated sessions because pressure redistributes each time you shift rather than building at fixed contact points. That said, if you are managing pressure injuries or a specific medical condition, please check with your occupational therapist or physician before changing your seating. We sell comfort products, not medical devices, and we will not pretend otherwise.
